Overlay

Overview

Overlay was designed for translation of Manga (Japanese comics). Standard translation comes through following process: scanned manga pages are opened in graphics editor, characters' dialogues being translated into another language, and then modified picture being distributed. Overlay allows to edit dialogues without modifying picture file; in other words, it adds a text layer over the picture layer. The benefits of this technology are similar to benefits of movie subtitres in text file: you may easily create and modify it, and then easily distribute it.

Usage Guidelines

Download translation. That's small text file.
Download scanned pictures.
Copy all these files in one folder.
Open the translation (.lay) with Overlay.
Translated pages may be either viewed inside Overlay, or exported into regular jpeg files.

Note: Overlay requires .Net Framework 1.0 or higher. This library may be obtained from microsoft.com; you already have it if you have Microsoft Visual Studio installed on your system.
